Sorry guys I know how much you miss reading my random thoughts, but I’m back and I will be here EVERY week, TRUST!!

Let me start off by saying this… don’t talk about it.. be about it. I’m sure many of you have herd this said, but for real, when will people really stop bitching and start doing?? What gets me most is when a young adult says the all famous line “I’ma grown ass man”, this line only comes up when this little pee-on is backed into a wall. When is the last time you herd a grown ass man say that line?? NOT NEVER! Any who, stop with all the RAH RAH, and show some action.

On that note, on with the events… I promise you, my next update will be a lot more interesting than this.

So after 2 weeks of NOT updating my site and or my blog, I feel like I have neglected yall. Needless to say, I’m back and feel well great! I feel like I’m going to miss alot, but here it goes. Had a wonderful family trip with the misses, Destiny and Jr., had 2 crazy parties (Jerkys, and Fish Co), watched some football (yes, football is weekly activity), and also watched the VMA’s. I don’t know where to start, so lets see, ummm……(yes I’m thinking) Jerkys and Fish Co! YOUR IT! (I’m corny, thanks).

Last week both Jerkys and Fish Co got out control. School is back and it was apparent that everyone knows where the hot spot is on Wednesday nights. The place was mobbed before 1045, come 11 o’clock, the line is down the stairs and goes down the street a little bit(no bullshit, this week I’ll take a pic of it). I haven’t confirmed this yet, but I was told the door was shut at 1145! Everyone stayed till 1am and it was a good way to start off the school year. And Fish Co. WOW, I had my buddy run around with the video camera, so give me this weekend and I’ll have something edited up so you can see for your self.

The fam trip was crazy! We stayed at a great resort up north, hung out with my Moms n Mal, the kids and the misses. I gotta say, since I work so much I almost forgot how to relax, I felt disconnected with no cell, but at the same time it felt great. Not to answer the phone or check emails, or finish graphic work; it was great to get a REAL day(s) off. We chilled by the pool, and hit up a county fair, and enjoyed my Moms cooking (you can’t turn down a meal cooked by Moms, thats a known fact!). I always wondered why some older folks looked stressed out at the fair, now I know why! KIDS!! The best way to deal with that is to think back about when you were a young buck. And wanted to go here, there and back over there! It was cute though, I enjoyed every minute of it!

So lets talk about football!!! ITS ON EVERY THURS, SUN AND MON… isn’t that great?!?!

And the VMA’s, really what can I say that hasn’t been said? Let me see umm.. Kanye West….. Lil Mama…. and Lady Ga Ga. Oh let me say this, the production SUCKED! The mic’s where too loud at times (poor quality), the live hosts kinda sucked, like Sway, what was wrong wit dude?? Sounded like he was drunk, or been parting for the past 2 day continuously. And I won’t forget the line “are you guys ready for the two-thousand…….Video Music Awards”(and a quick pan away). Then dude that was inside got all excieted “Oh my god, theres Joe Jackson, Kanye West………. bla… uhh.. ahhh..” Ya dude was star struck. Then whats up wit Beyonce’s security dude Julius blocking the camera?? I swear, MTV, if yall gave me a chance to produce/direct the awards maaannn, it would be one of the best, trust me. Try me I dare you!

Whats up yall,

I had a great weekend, minus the meal I ordered at Joe’s. I’m sayin’ it would of been 10 times better if it was served HOT! I hate cold food, but the idea behind the dish was great. Needless to say my “date” with the misses didn’t start of as flawless as we had planned. Then off to the movies; for the longest time I have been waiting and waiting for G.I. Joe the movie to come out. This past weekend I FINALLY saw it, and all I can say is what a let down. To me the special effects where weak and the acting with some of the actors could of been better. I’m not saying I could of done a better job, but lets be real, if I got paid what they did for a days worth of work you could bet your ass I would be working my balls off to make sure I got into the sequel. All in all, it a was a good night with the misses, but DAMN, dinner and a movie got me for a buck fifty?!? Yup its true, if you want to eat at a middle of the road kinda place and go catch a flick, bring some cash fellas. I know some of yall are like… “150 ain’t shit ILL… I’ma balla!”… ya OK, come talk to me when you got kids and your outa ya moms basement! I’m realistic when it comes to spending cash, 150 for a damn meal and a movie is crazy, but hay, all good things have a price tag.

This weekend wasn’t all about my date night, I also attempted to wake board. Yup this is true, I do have some athletic ability. As some of you may know I did play semi-pro football for 3 years and before that played football since I was in 3erd grade, and I also snowboard.

I thought to myself, wake boarding should be close to snowboarding right? WRONG!!! Man, this shit is HARD. I did get up, on my second try, but I ate it every time I got up! LOL, I’m cracking up just thinking about how goofy my ass looked trying to wake board. Oh well, I had a blast doing it, and I’ll be trying again very soon!

I also can’t forget Saturday night at Fish Co. WOW is all I can say about it! At midnight its like the flood gates opened and everyone and there mama came in. I had a blast djing, I played everything from New kids on the block to Drake. It was one of them things you just had to be there for. I hope this next week you can make it. In any case, I’ll be there this Saturday for round 3!

As some of you saw a few weeks back I posted a question on my twitter/facebook page asking other djs if they played requests. I got a huge response from both dj’s and club goers. It was split 50/50, but we could all agree that we didn’t play all request, its got to be some what inline with the music we are playing/crowd we are djing for. What sparked me to ask this question was to see if i was over reacting to this “dude” who asked me to play a song so many times i played it and looked like an asshole. Threw the whole party off, what a mistake. The real reason for me talking about it again is because of a similar situation. I was asked to play this one song that is a ok track, but didn’t fit the current vibe of the dance floor. So I “ok’ed” them to death, and in the end didn’t play it, rocked the show and did my thing. I think some of you really forget though, your one or 10 out of 400-600 people we see on a regular night. We as djs need to provide for the majority. Yes, if its a dope song I’ll be sure to play it, but if its questionable, I’ll most likely play it safe and not play it at all. Next time your song doesn’t get played and you had a good night remember, its possible to have a good night without hearing “your song”.

Also, when going to the club make sure you know your limit! Man, this dude was talking with me out side Fish Co. wile I was packing and in mid sentence he let one go. YES THE DUDE FARTED like we was boys. This was by far one of the funniest things that has happened all summer. He didn’t even skip a beat, he ripped, and continued with the convo. Then as one might expect he THEN starts to laugh after he realized he just that that right in front of me. You know delayed drunk reaction. In any case that was the icing on the cake!

Man oh man! The music that has been released in the past 3 weeks has been, oh I don’t know… HOT! As you may or may not know I do listen to more than just hip hop and rap.

I think we can agree that Hova, Kanyezze, and Rihanna got the hottest track of the month, BUT I’m enjoying this MC and Eminem “beef”. Not for the fact that we already know Em’s track ‘warning’ is by far the best diss track of the year and just put MC out there on blasstt, but for the fact that what he is saying is just some shit you shouldn’t say unless you have to. I’m sure that both woman and men hold back a lot after a break up, and if beef does happen we know what NOT to say, just to keep the beef in check. But we all come to that one moment in all beefs where you have to cross the line to make a point, well, we know Em just did that, I give you a around of applauds. A few other dope tracks this month Kanye feat LMFAO – Paranoid RMX, Young Problemz’ – BOI (dope production), Jump Smokers – Don’t be a Douche Bag and more.

With keeping things moving I want to say THANKS to all the artist making dope tracks.. thanks we need this!!!

Am I confused??

What a week! Along with moving the events don’t stop, I don’t know how I’m going to survive but I’m sure I will. Now I’m sure your wondering what my title is about. Well I have been doing quite a bit of reading, all of my reading takes place online. Reading such things like current events, top stories and staying up to day with my facebook friends. Well in my readings I have found that the word “nigga” is used quite freely, and I’m unsure why. Why do people feel the need to call one another “nigga”? Maybe its me, but maybe its not, but in any case I feel a little bothered by it. Yes I’m guilty of this too, when talking to my CLOSE friends we call each other this, but never in text where it can be re-read for years to come. Besides my blog I haven’t posted such a word on the net. So, that leads me to my questions, have we as a society diluted such a word and made it a common word in our every day vocabulary, or am I over reacting? I do feel that if the word is used and accepted by who its directed at its ok to a point. The line is very thin and at times I feel its crossed without any thought or any feeling of guilt. Yes, maybe it is different for me as I’m an African-American, and have been called this word in a negative manner, idk, what do you think? Please share your thoughts and or comments!! (post any an all comments at the bottom)

A new begining…

What a weekend!! The weather was fantastic, the events went with out a hitch, and I enjoyed every minute I had with my family, what more could you ask for! I know some of you know about my trip to Boston on Friday night with my daughter Destiny. I took her to go see the Jonas Brothers. I can’t lie, Those guys put on one HELL of a show! Jordan Sparks did her thing too, but seriously all of your parents out there that might be reading this I highly recommend that you kids to see these JB live, well worth every penny. My highlight of the show was 2 songs into there set, my daughter grabs me up and says “Daddy, I love you”. Whats better than that??

I can’t over look Saturday ether. I DJed a 50th anniversary and played nothing newer than 81! I realized doing private parties gives you a chance to flex your skills, and also catch up on some tunes you haven’t herd. After that I did my normal running a round and promo. Then I topped off with meeting up with my boys and headed over to Pearl for our FIRST BIKE NIGHT. The staff at Pearl took care of us like kings, we had VIP parking (across the street), the music was dope (thanks Tony T), and everyone had a good time (big ups to RED LINE, LOD, RUFF RYDERS, and OCEAN STATE HOT COAT).

Today being Sunday aka Fun-day with the fam, I need to finish my honey-do list and get on with yet another great day!

Peace, let me start off by saying DAMN it feels good to finally have my site up and running. I have been so swamped with work and family that I haven’t had much time to focus on this project and complete it. With countless hours of work and different layouts I can say I’m finally happy with the outcome.
